The First Eight Reception: Andrew Fisher
The Britain-Australia Society is delighted to announce the 2019 First Eight Reception at Australia House on Tuesday the 22nd of October to commemorate the life and work of Prime Minister Andrew Fisher in collaboration with the Australian National University with the support of Trade and Investment Queensland.
Please join us for a lecture by Dr David Headon on the life and times of Australia's first Labor Prime Minister who steered the fledgling nation through the horrors of the Great War, and celebrate the enduring strength of the bilateral relationship over a glass of wine in the historic surroundings of Australia House.
The First Eight Project is a joint undertaking between the Parliamentary Library, the National Museum of Australia, the National Archives of Australia, the Victorian Parliamentary Library and the Australian National University’s Australian Studies Institute to commemorate and celebrate the first eight Prime Ministers of Australia.
Hosted by: The Britain-Australia Society & The Australian National University.
Supported by: Trade and Investment Queensland, Australia.
